Actress Vivica A. Fox, Lynn Chen, and comedian Dwayne Perkins will star in the upcoming romantic comedy film "Love Bait." This project is directed by Romell Foster-Owens and produced by Quentin Lee of Margin Films. The film will be showcased at the Series Mania Forum in Lille, France, which runs from March 24 to 27. The story follows a young Asian American woman, played by Chen, who is under pressure from her traditional parents to succeed in business. To gain their approval for her boyfriend, she creates a scheme involving a hired "bad boyfriend," portrayed by Perkins. As the plan unfolds, she starts to develop feelings for the imposter, leading to a complicated love triangle. Fox, who is also an executive producer of the film, will play the role of Mrs. Jones, the mother of Perkins’ character. Foster-Owens is noted for being the first African American woman to direct a comedy feature, which is a significant milestone in the industry. Perkins and Koji Steven Sakai co-wrote the screenplay for "Love Bait." Production is expected to start this Fall. Meanwhile, Lee is also working on a romantic comedy series titled "Morning, Paris!" that features actor Nadia Hatta. This series has been selected for a special development program in Canada and France.
