Vizag police arrested 103 individuals in February
The police in Visakhapatnam arrested 103 people in February for property crimes. Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi shared the information in a press conference on Thursday. During the month, there were 109 property offenses reported. The special investigation teams used technology to solve many of these cases. They successfully detected 73 of the reported crimes. Items worth ₹33.21 lakh were recovered from these cases. Additionally, around 400 stolen mobile phones were found, totaling ₹60 lakh. Overall, the police retrieved about ₹93.21 lakh in stolen goods. Among the detected crimes were three robberies, three daytime break-ins, and 13 motorcycle thefts. The recovered items included 660 grams of gold, over 2000 grams of silver, cash, motorcycles, laptops, and other valuables. To enhance safety, the police installed 751 CCTV cameras around the city in February. They also held 203 crime awareness meetings to educate the public about crime prevention and the value of surveillance cameras. Special patrols are being deployed in areas identified as high-crime zones.
