Vizag prepares for first IPL match on March 24

The city of Visakhapatnam is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for the first Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on March 24. The Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Stadium at PM Palem has been decorated with vibrant banners showcasing DC players. Officials from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) are making final arrangements. They are focused on crowd management and facilities for the players. Police have been deployed at the stadium to ensure security during the event. ACA president Kesineni Sivanath and other officials inspected the preparations. They confirmed that everything is in place for the match, which will be played under lights. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu cannot attend due to scheduling conflicts, but Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has agreed to be present. Sivanath mentioned that about 800 workers worked hard to complete the stadium renovations in less than two months, impressing the DC management and players. The stadium, which holds 27,000 fans, is expected to be full for both matches. This is the second year in a row that the DC has chosen Visakhapatnam as its second home ground. Fans are eager to see star players like K.L. Rahul, Axar Patel, and Rishabh Pant. High-energy matches are anticipated as excitement builds for the event.
