Vizianagaram to source water from Andhra reservoir
The Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation is bringing water from the Andhra reservoir, located 40 km away, to address expected summer shortages. Water will flow through several areas before reaching the city via the Nellimarla Master Pump House. Currently, the corporation supplies 26.5 million liters daily, while the demand is 47 million liters. The main source, the Thatipudi reservoir, is facing reduced inflows, prompting the shift to the Andhra project. Officials are working to prevent leaks in the pipelines and have urged residents to conserve water. The Andhra reservoir was built in 1983 and will help meet the city's needs.
