Voice actor Jay Johnston sentenced to prison for role in Capitol riot
Jay Johnston, a voice actor known for his role in "Bob's Burgers," was sentenced to 366 days in prison for his involvement in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot. He pleaded guilty to obstructing law enforcement during the incident. In addition to his prison term, Johnston will serve two years of supervised release and pay $2,000 in restitution. He used a stolen police riot shield and attempted to push against police lines during the riot. Johnston was banned from "Bob's Burgers" in December 2021 following the events. Over 1,500 people have been charged in connection with the Capitol breach, with more than 570 facing felony charges for assaulting law enforcement.
