Voice actor sees AI enhancing human creativity appreciation
Masumi Tsunoda, the voice of Naoe in Assassin's Creed Shadows, believes that AI cannot replace human creativity. She expressed her hope that as AI technology grows, it will encourage people to appreciate and express their creative talents even more. Actors in the gaming industry are worried about how AI is changing their field. Many actors, represented by the SAG-AFTRA union, have been striking for nearly a year. They demand better protections against AI use, fair compensation, and informed consent before companies use their likenesses. While Tsunoda acknowledges some fear about AI, she insists it will challenge people to focus on their creativity. Other industry professionals, like performance capture artist Steve Kniebihly, share her optimism, arguing that AI cannot match the chemistry between actors and directors. Progress has been made in negotiations, especially with Take-Two's CEO, who supports fair pay for reused AI content. However, SAG-AFTRA continues to push for stronger protections. Their latest proposal aims to close loopholes that could leave actors exposed to AI misuse.
