A volcano erupted late Wednesday on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, marking the seventh eruption since December 2023. The eruption occurred at the Sundhnuksgigar fissure, near the town of Grindavik, at 2314 GMT. Live footage showed lava flowing from the fissure. The Icelandic Meteorological Office reported that no infrastructure is currently at risk, but the town of Grindavik is being evacuated.
