Voters reject cannabis legalization measures in Florida and the Dakotas on Election Day
On Election Day, voters in Florida rejected a measure to legalize recreational cannabis, known as Amendment 3, which needed 60% approval. This setback comes after 24 states had already legalized recreational use. In North Dakota and South Dakota, preliminary results indicate that efforts to legalize recreational cannabis are also unlikely to succeed. Meanwhile, Nebraska approved medical cannabis, but its implementation faces legal challenges. In Massachusetts, voters turned down a proposal to legalize certain psychedelics, with about 57% voting against the measure. The state already allows recreational marijuana use.
