Wakefield shooting victim was co-defendant in murder trial

A man shot in Wakefield on Tuesday night was set to testify in a murder trial the next day. The shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Lakeshore Drive. Local police are looking into the case and believe it was a targeted attack. The victim, Isaiah Sautier, is involved in a 2021 murder case. He is charged with being an accessory to murder and assault. That trial was scheduled to begin Wednesday, but Sautier did not show up. Sautier’s attorney has not commented on the situation. Records indicate he was arrested in September 2024 for tampering with evidence and intent to distribute drugs. He lives at 15 Lakeshore Drive, a location previously associated with the discovery of human remains in 2019. Sautier's parents bought the home in May 2019, shortly before the remains were found. The owner of the sober home at that address pleaded guilty to fraud last year.
