Warriors Way has launched a new youth archery program after receiving a $9,500 grant at a recent charity event. The grant will help cover the cost of equipment and volunteers for the program aimed at children facing mental health challenges in the community. The archery program will focus on safety and values associated with the sport. Jeffrey Dauterman, Warriors Way's chief marketing officer, mentioned the organization’s successful youth bladesmithing and blacksmithing program as an example of the positive response they expect from this new initiative. Parents will be involved, as children need a guardian to participate in the program. Warriors Way recently moved to a new location in Lima. Other organizations also received funding at the event. Church on the Rock won an $8,000 grant to set up a pay-as-you-can cafe called Maddy's Corner, inspired by a member who struggled with mental health issues. The Autism Life Center also secured $8,000 to expand its programs for autistic youth. The funds will improve support meetings and events, helping more than 300 children feel included and confident. The grants were organized by Activate Allen County and the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin counties.
