Washington man arrested for stealing $10,000 in Legos
A man in Washington was arrested for stealing $10,000 worth of Legos from a toy store. The theft happened on February 13 at Sasquatch Bricks Toy Store in University Place. After weeks of investigation, police found 32-year-old Caylan Andrew Guerra in a car outside a storage unit. Officers used surveillance footage and tips from the community to track Guerra down. When they arrived at the scene, they found him asleep in his car. Police demanded he exit the vehicle, threatening to break the window if he did not comply. Eventually, they broke the window and pulled him out. Guerra faced several charges, including possession of a stolen firearm and possession of controlled substances. When searching the storage unit, officers found the stolen Legos hidden in the rafters. They also discovered drugs and firearms, some of which were reported stolen. Guerra has a long criminal record, including property crimes and drug offenses. He was arraigned on Friday, with bail set at $175,000. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a court hearing on April 15. Interestingly, Lego thefts have increased due to the toy's high resale value. Another suspect was recently arrested in California for stealing a large quantity of Lego products. Police are investigating further connections between Guerra and other crimes.
