Water exercise routine aids weight loss for ages 20-70
A new study shows that people aged 20 to 70 can lose weight with a water-based exercise routine. Participants engaged in classes like zumba and yoga for two to three hours a week, losing an average of 2kg in ten weeks. Women over 45 saw significant benefits, with an average waist size reduction of 3cm. The routine also lowered heart rates and body fat while reducing strain on joints, making it suitable for those with obesity. Researchers suggest that water workouts may effectively combat obesity but call for more studies to compare them with land-based exercises. Current NHS statistics indicate a significant obesity rate among UK adults and children.
