Water supply disrupted in Berhampur for repairs today
Water supply in Berhampur will be interrupted today due to important repairs. The work is taking place on the main pipe from the Janibili project near Aska. Bikash Padhy, the general manager of Watco, stated that the repairs need to happen after emptying the pipe. He mentioned that the maintenance work is also planned to prepare for the busy summer season. Padhy expects that the work will be done within the day. Berhampur currently receives about 70 million liters of water daily from Janibili, which has a maximum capacity of 90 million liters. The water services over 55,000 households with tap connections. To help those affected by the disruption, alternative water supply will be provided through tankers in various wards.
