James Francis McCarthy II, known as "Mac," passed away at home on March 9, 2025. He was born on August 31, 1947. Mac had a long career with the Waukegan Police Force, serving from 1970 until 1997. He was a dedicated community member and cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary, two daughters, Dawn and Meggan, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family and friends will remember the impact he had on their lives. Visitation for Mac will take place at the Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee, Illinois, on March 20 and 21, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There will also be a visitation at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Waukegan on March 22, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM, with burial at Ascension Catholic Cemetery afterward.
