Weathered, Vineyards & Winery is teaming up with Gruver Farms to open a new tasting room in New Cumberland, York County. This location is expected to start welcoming guests around mid-April, with a tentative opening date set for April 12. Richard Woolley, owner of Weathered, met Jaden Gruver several years ago when Gruver was the operations manager at the farm. Gruver Farms is known for its Christmas trees and has a vineyard on-site. This partnership grew from their shared interest in wine production, as they have been collaborating on grape sourcing for years. The Gruver Farms Tasting Room will sit on a scenic hilltop, offering stunning views of the countryside. Visitors can enjoy wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks there, along with pre-packaged food and occasional food trucks. Woolley mentioned that they will feature a range of wines, primarily dry, but with a few sweeter options. Hillary Gale, a top-tier winemaker, is joining the team and is excited about the new wine lineup. Woolley described her as a valuable addition to their business. He is also planning to expand their production by building a new tasting room in New Tripoli. The Gruver Farms Tasting Room will operate on Fridays through Sundays. Meanwhile, Weathered’s original location is open on the same days and also has a satellite site at The Historic Smithton Inn in Ephrata. This new venture marks an exciting step forward for both businesses.
