Spring has arrived in Pittsburgh, and there are plenty of indoor events to enjoy this weekend from March 21-23. Here’s a quick guide to some of the highlights. On Saturday, NatureFest takes place at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, located in Oakland. This day-long celebration of nature is included with museum admission. Visitors can enjoy a symposium on land stewardship, watch a film about aquatic invaders, and take tours of the “Uprooted: Plants out of Place” exhibit. NatureFest runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Pittsburgh Fringe Festival is back, running until March 29. This arts festival features a variety of performances in venues across Bloomfield, Garfield, and other areas. The lineup includes theater, music, comedy, and dance, showcasing local and international artists. Tickets for individual shows are available, or attendees can buy a festival button for discounts on multiple shows. The Thaw: Warm Up Music Festival wraps up this weekend in Market Square. The festival celebrates the arrival of spring with music performances from various genres, including rock, funk, and bluegrass. There will also be a snowman burning event to symbolize winter's end. The festival starts on Friday at 4 p.m. and runs until Sunday. For those looking for a unique theater experience, “Speed: The Musical” is running at the Glitterbox Theater in Homestead. This unauthorized parody of the 1994 blockbuster features original music and a live band. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Lastly, families can enjoy breakfast with Snow White this Sunday at Eliza’s Hot Metal Bistro in Oakland.
