Wells Fargo customers can claim payments from settlement
Thousands of Americans can claim money from a $19.5 million settlement involving Wells Fargo and other companies. This follows a class action lawsuit that accused them of violating California privacy laws. The lawsuit alleges that phone calls with customers were recorded without their consent. While the companies involved, including Wells Fargo and Priority Technology Holdings, are paying for the settlement, they deny any wrongdoing. Individuals who received calls from The Credit Wholesale Company between October 22, 2014 and November 17, 2023 may be eligible for payments. These calls were related to credit card processing services. The amount each eligible person can receive is unclear. While estimates suggest around $86 per call, some may receive up to $5,000. The total payout will depend on how many people file claims. To claim money, individuals need to provide their phone number and/or business name related to the calls. All claims must be submitted by April 11, 2025. A final approval hearing for the settlement will take place on May 20, 2025. Those with objections to the settlement have until April 4 to contact the settlement administrator.
