Westmoreland GOP endorses incumbents for May primary

triblive.com

Westmoreland Republicans have endorsed five incumbent row officers and a newly appointed judge for the May 20 primary. This includes Register of Wills Jon Wian and Coroner Tim Carson, both facing challengers. Wian, appointed in February, is up against former acting Register Katie Pecarchik and former deputy Kim Horrell. Carson will compete with John Ackerman, a former deputy under the previous coroner. District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli, Clerk of Courts Megan Loughner, and Prothonotary Gina O’Barto are unopposed. Newly appointed Judge Matt Schimizzi is also unopposed in both party primaries. No Democrats are running for these positions.
