Wharf4Ward raised $1.6 million for youth cancer patients
The Sony Foundation Australia's Wharf4Ward event took place at Woolloomooloo Wharf on Thursday. This annual gathering, known as Sydney's longest lunch, features food and entertainment for a good cause. Many celebrities attended, including Ronan Keating, Karl Stefanovic, and Jules Robinson. The event also includes an auction, which this year raised a record $1.6 million. This amount is over $100,000 more than last year's total. The funds will support the foundation's You Can Stay program. This program offers free accommodation for regional youth cancer patients and their families who travel to the city for treatment. Since the program started in 2020, it has provided over 32,000 nights of free lodging for families in need. The success of the event showcases the community's commitment to supporting young cancer patients and their families.
