WHO launches framework to investigate novel pathogen origins
The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a global framework to investigate the origins of new and re-emerging pathogens, supported by the Scientific Advisory Group for the Origins of Novel Pathogens (SAGO). This structured approach includes six technical elements for comprehensive studies, aiming to enhance outbreak prevention and response. The framework serves as a resource for public health authorities and researchers, emphasizing the importance of timely investigations and data sharing.
