Wife arrested for abetting husband's suicide in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested a woman and her mother for allegedly aiding the suicide of a 27-year-old man. The man, Shivprakash Tiwari, livestreamed his death on Instagram on March 16 from Mehra village in Rewa district. His wife, Priya Tripathi, watched the streaming for 44 minutes. During the police investigation, it was revealed that Tiwari's wife was among the viewers of the livestream. However, she claims she only saw it after he had already died. She and her mother, Geeta Dubey, were arrested on Friday, and an unnatural death case has been registered. Tiwari had been married for two years. He had suffered an accident that left him reliant on crutches and had been dealing with marital problems, as he suspected his wife was communicating with another person. The couple often fought, and Tiwari had recently gone to bring his wife home from her mother’s place. In the livestream, Tiwari accused his mother-in-law and wife of destroying his family. After he was found hanging, authorities began further investigations. Both Tripathi and Dubey have been placed in judicial custody, and their phones and social media accounts are being examined for more evidence. This incident follows a similar case in Agra, where a 30-year-old man died by suicide after claiming his wife had contributed to his suffering. His story has ignited discussions about men's mental health in the community.
