Wildfire in Miami-Dade County burns 25,000 acres

A wildfire in southeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, has grown to 25,000 acres and is 30 percent contained. Multiple agencies are working hard to manage the blaze, which started on March 18. Miami-Dade Fire Spokesperson Erika Benitez shared updates in a video on Thursday evening. She advised residents to stay indoors and stay informed. She assured the public that there is currently no immediate threat to homes or businesses. Firefighting efforts include ground units, water drop missions from air rescue teams, and the use of fire trucks. To help combat the fire, officials closed US Route 1 and Card Sound Road on Thursday. Efforts continue to contain the flames as the situation develops.
