William Rothschild found dead after fire at Laurel Canyon home
William Rothschild, a member of the prominent Rothschild banking family, was found dead after a fire at his Laurel Canyon home on Wednesday. Neighbors reported that he was known for his classic car collection and was a friendly figure in the community. The fire, which occurred in the afternoon, severely damaged the 825-square-foot property. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 30 minutes, but the cause of the fire and Rothschild's official identification are still pending investigation by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Neighbors described Rothschild as devoted to his Afghan hound and noted that he had a collection of vintage cars, including a red Porsche previously owned by Michael Jordan. No other injuries were reported, but concerns were raised about the whereabouts of his dog.
