Windows 11 24H2 update now available for affected PCs

pcworld.com

Microsoft has lifted a key restriction that affected users wanting to update to Windows 11 24H2. The restriction was specifically for PCs with the game Asphalt 8: Airborne installed. Previously, Windows 11 24H2 was causing the game to freeze, requiring frequent restarts. Because of this issue, users with Asphalt 8: Airborne could not receive the 24H2 update at all. Reports indicate that Microsoft has now resolved the problem and removed the safeguard hold. This means users will eventually be able to download the update. It may take up to 48 hours for the update to appear in the Windows Update section. To speed up the process, users are advised to restart their PCs. This is not the first update block for Windows 11 24H2. Similar restrictions were enforced in December for PCs with USB scanners and printers. In February, another block affected users with older versions of AutoCAD software. More blocks may be lifted as Microsoft continues to fix issues with the 24H2 update.
