The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed Rashaan Gaulden, a defensive back with NFL experience. The team announced this move on Wednesday. Gaulden is 30 years old and has played 27 games in the NFL. He was picked in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. In his rookie year, he played 15 games and made 29 tackles. He also had brief stints with the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders. Although Gaulden hasn't played a game in more than four years, he was on the Calgary Stampeders' practice roster during the 2022 season but was released shortly after. Before his NFL career, he played college football at the University of Tennessee, dealing with a foot injury that sidelined him for the entire 2015 season. The Blue Bombers are looking to fill two positions in their secondary. Brandon Alexander was not re-signed, and Tyrell Ford is now with the Edmonton Elks. The CFL Combine will take place this week, followed by the draft on April 29. Rookie camps will start on May 7.
