Wisconsin players shine in NCAA tournament at Milwaukee
Wisconsin basketball will have a strong presence during the NCAA tournament in Milwaukee this weekend. Although the University of Wisconsin and Marquette are not playing at Fiserv Forum, several players with ties to the state will be competing there. Lipscomb University has two players from Wisconsin. Jacob Ognacevic, who attended Sheboygan Lutheran, and Grant Asman, from Kimberly, are both excited to play in their home state. Ognacevic expressed his thrill about returning to Wisconsin as they prepare to face a tough opponent, No. 3 seed Iowa State. Iowa State's head coach, T.J. Otzelberger, also has Wisconsin roots. He is from Milwaukee and played basketball at local schools. One of his standout players, Milan Momcilovic, helped Pewaukee win three state championships in high school. Otzelberger shared his gratitude for the opportunity to return to Wisconsin for the tournament. Additionally, the University of North Carolina will play on Friday. Seth Trimble, who grew up in Wauwatosa and played at Menominee Falls High School, aims to help his team advance. Trimble recalled feeling excited when he learned the tournament games would be in Milwaukee. He looks forward to playing in front of family and friends, fulfilling a dream to compete in his hometown.
