A teenager in Wisconsin has been charged with killing his mother. Reed Gelinskey, 15, allegedly stabbed his mom, Suzanne, multiple times in their home. This tragic event happened on March 4, in the village of Caledonia, located about 20 miles from Milwaukee. Prosecutors say Reed used a dumbbell to hit his mother before stabbing her in the chest and neck. According to court documents, Reed claimed that he was inspired by the Menendez brothers, who famously murdered their parents in 1989. He reportedly watched a scene from a Netflix documentary about them before committing the crime. Reed reportedly had feelings of depression and an urge to kill his parents after returning home from school that day. It was noted that he also planned to attack his father but could not find a hammer to do so. Reed admitted to taking a large amount of anxiety medication before the incident. When police arrived at the scene, Reed greeted them at the front door and dropped a bloody knife. He then confessed that his mother was dead because of him. Reed is currently being held in a juvenile detention center with a bond set at $1 million. His next court appearance is scheduled for June.
