Wizz Air introduces four new long-haul routes

simpleflying.com

Wizz Air has recently updated its longest flight routes, adding four new entries to its network. The airline operates under four different units: Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Hungary, Malta, and the UK. The group has a fleet of 227 aircraft, with most being the A321neo, which helps the airline keep fares low. Starting soon, Wizz Air will receive its first A321XLR aircraft. This model allows the airline to operate longer routes while carrying more baggage. It is expected that these planes will be used over routes that take seven to eight hours. Among Wizz Air's longest planned flights for April to December 2025, the top three routes are new for the airline. The longest route, from Milan to Abu Dhabi, will begin on June 2nd and will be serviced daily. Other new routes include flights from London Gatwick to Jeddah and Medinah, both starting this spring and summer. Wizz Air is also ending some routes, including a direct flight from Rome to Abu Dhabi. This change reflects adjustments in the network based on demand. The new route to Medinah in Saudi Arabia is particularly notable, as it is supported by incentives from the Saudi government to attract pilgrimage travelers. Overall, the adjustments reflect Wizz Air’s strategy to expand its network and respond to passenger needs.
