Woman allegedly punched unprovoked in River Valley
A woman was allegedly punched by a man while walking home in River Valley last Friday, March 14. The 28-year-old reported the incident on Instagram. It occurred around 4:20 PM on Kim Yam Road. She had stepped aside to allow the man, who seemed to be in a hurry, to pass. Suddenly, the woman felt a sharp pain in her arm. She realized the man had allegedly punched her. "It didn’t seem like an accident," she stated. Her arm quickly swelled up. After the attack, the man ran off, but she followed him to confront him. Instead of apologizing, the man accused her of hitting him. "He showed no remorse," the woman said. She managed to take a photo of him and later filed a police report. The woman has urged others to speak up about such incidents. She mentioned a previous case where an elderly delivery woman died after an assault. "If this had happened to someone older or more vulnerable, the outcome could have been far worse," she noted. In a follow-up post, she said someone contacted her claiming the man has a history of attacking women. Another user said he is known in the area for mistreating women. The woman shared a photo of her injured arm and questioned how long it would be before someone was seriously harmed. She is calling for police action.
