Woman charged with attempted homicide in Pittsburgh stabbing
A woman is charged in connection with a violent attack on another woman in Pittsburgh. The incident occurred on Friday night on Pressley Street in East Allegheny. Police received a call about a stabbing at around 8:18 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a woman with visible injuries, including cuts on her head and cheek. She told police that Kaylynn Lucas, 40, from Coraopolis, attacked her. The victim claimed Lucas accused her of stealing her phone. Although she denied it, Lucas patted her down but found nothing. According to court documents, Lucas then threatened the victim, saying “I’m about to trash you.” She stabbed the victim twice with a pairing knife and then threw her against a radiator. Lucas allegedly tried to suffocate the victim with a plastic bag and told her she was “going to die tonight.” The police discovered a significant amount of bleach and blood in the bedroom where the attack happened. A broken knife was also found at the scene. Lucas was located on another floor of the building, and officers recognized her from previous incidents. She was taken into custody without a struggle and was found with blood on her clothing. Lucas faces serious charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and strangulation. She is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail without bail.
