Woman defends against knife attack in Norwich
A woman bravely intervened during a knife fight in Norwich on March 10. The incident occurred in broad daylight on Magdalen Street just before 4:30 PM. A passing driver captured the confrontation on his dash cam. The video shows four men running from Magdalen Close. Two of them, including one in a black and red hoodie, began fighting another man wearing a bucket hat. Suddenly, a woman crossed the street and struck the hooded man on the head with her handbag. This caused him to back away. Meanwhile, a man wearing a black face mask was seen brandishing a knife in the background. The police later arrested a woman in her 30s on suspicion of affray. She has been bailed and is scheduled to appear in court on June 11. Local councillor Alex Catt described the street fight as "shockingly violent" and noted that it was not an isolated event. He highlighted a rise in violence and anti-social behavior in the area, partly due to under-resourced police. Catt urged for better community support to help address these issues.
