Woman dies after jumping from Kolkata rail bridge

A tragic incident occurred in Kolkata on Friday morning when a 40-year-old woman died after jumping off a rail bridge. The woman, identified as Sushma Prasad, was crossing the Dakshindari rail bridge with her husband, Vikas, around 7 am. As they approached the bridge, Sushma saw a train coming on the track in front of her. However, she heard another train's horn from behind and panicked, thinking it was coming towards her on the same track. In a moment of fear, she jumped through a gap on the bridge, falling onto the road below. Sushma was quickly taken to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital but was sadly declared dead upon arrival. Witnesses confirmed that neither of the trains was on the tracks where she was walking. This incident highlights the dangers of rail crossings and the importance of remaining calm in critical situations.
