Woman dies in car accident in Calumet Township, Michigan

A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Houghton County, Michigan. The incident happened early Friday morning on Lake Linden Avenue. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 3:30 a.m. Authorities report that Holly Dollar, a 48-year-old from Laurium, was walking when she was hit by a car. The driver, 24-year-old Jordan Racine-Klarich from Calumet, was involved in the crash. Dollar was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Racine-Klarich was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, which led to serious injury. Charges against him are still pending. Local police and emergency services also helped at the scene.
