Woman escapes sexual assault by jumping from train
A 23-year-old woman jumped from a moving train in Secunderabad on March 22, 2025, to escape a sexual assault. She suffered serious injuries from the fall. The woman was traveling alone in the ladies' coach of the Telapur-Medchal MMTS train. Earlier, she had gone to Secunderabad to repair her mobile phone. After completing her task, she boarded the train around 7:15 p.m. Two other female passengers left the coach, leaving her alone. An unknown man, approximately 25 years old, approached her and made unwanted sexual advances. When she refused, he tried to force himself on her. In fear for her safety, she jumped from the moving train. Bystanders who saw her in distress quickly called for help. She was taken to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for treatment of her injuries. The police stated that she is willing to identify her attacker if she sees him again. An investigation has started, and a case has been filed following her complaint on March 23.
