Woman kidnapped and gang raped near Lucknow, dies
A 32-year-old woman died after she was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped near Lucknow. Police say she was attacked in the early hours of Wednesday. The woman lived in Ayodhya but had traveled to Varanasi for a job interview. After returning on Tuesday, she got off a bus in Alambagh and hired an autorickshaw to reach her brother’s house in Chinhat. Her family claims she was abducted during the ride. Her brother reported her missing at around 3:20 AM after she shared her live location with him, fearing the autorickshaw driver was taking her off route. Police located her last known position near a police station in Malihabad. They found her unconscious in a mango orchard shortly afterward. Unfortunately, she was declared dead at the hospital. Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects. They suspect the autorickshaw driver as a key figure in the incident. Family members claim the assailants took her phone before leaving her in a remote area. Evidence has been collected from the scene, and police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage. According to her brother, the woman had sent him a location after feeling uneasy about the driver. He tried to call her again, but the call disconnected after he heard her scream. Her family said she had been looking for a job after completing her education. She had planned to return home to her husband and 13-year-old son Wednesday evening. The case has been taken over by Malihabad police, who are currently investigating.
