Woman pleads guilty to public decency charge for sex in Belfast church

A 32-year-old woman, Kirsty Leigh McMaster, pleaded guilty to having sex inside St Mary's Chapel in Belfast. She was charged with outraging public decency during the incident on May 18, 2024. McMaster, currently in custody, will be sentenced on March 27. Her lawyer noted she was homeless and struggling with addiction at the time of the offense. Her co-accused, Sean Paul Russell, did not attend the hearing and is scheduled for arraignment on March 3. Police were called after witnesses reported the incident.
