Rosaleen Crotty Ehinger, who popularized wellie racing in the Swiss Alps for St Patrick's Day, was remembered this weekend. Family and friends held a race in Moos, Switzerland, honoring her contributions since 2015. Ehinger, who passed away on February 10, 2025, had lived in Germany for 17 years. She was buried in her native Co Kilkenny on February 21. Her family plans another commemorative wellie race in Allensbach, Germany, on March 22. Ehinger’s efforts to combine fun and community through wellie racing left a lasting impact.
