Woman sues massage business over severe neck injury

Leann Bartolo has taken a massage business to court following a neck injury she claims was caused by the therapist ignoring her request not to touch her neck. Bartolo stated she clearly communicated her wishes both verbally and in writing before the session. According to Bartolo, after her massage, the therapist unexpectedly cracked her neck, which led to severe pain and difficulty getting out of bed. Medical examinations later revealed she had a serious herniated disc impacting her spinal cord and nerves. Since the incident, Bartolo has endured years of pain and has undergone multiple surgeries. The massage therapist has denied any wrongdoing, claiming she did not manipulate Bartolo's neck as alleged. The business asserts it has never had a complaint in its 37 years of operation. Bartolo’s lawyer is seeking compensation for her pain, suffering, and medical expenses due to what they believe was improper treatment. The court will now determine whether the therapist acted against Bartolo's instructions and if she should be held responsible for the injuries.
