Woman threw dogs from eighth-floor window in Spain
A woman in Spain has been arrested after throwing her two dogs from her eighth-floor apartment. The incident took place in the Albufereta neighborhood of Alicante. The 53-year-old admitted to losing her temper during an argument with her husband. She claimed that taking care of their Yorkshire Terriers was mostly her responsibility. Neighbors reported the incident to police around 1 PM on Sunday. At first, they thought they saw a toy tossed from the window. Tragically, both dogs died instantly from the 75-foot fall. Police were able to identify the dogs and their owner through microchips and witness accounts. The woman's partner, who has no previous criminal record, supported her explanation of the events. The bodies of the dogs have been taken to a local animal protection center. It is unclear if the woman has appeared in court yet. In Spain, animal mistreatment can lead to a prison sentence of up to two years. Those convicted may also face a ban on pet ownership for up to four years.
