Women in Bengaluru tech industry share leadership success stories

A recent event at Honeywell’s campus in Bengaluru brought together over 200 women from the technology industry. The gathering aimed to showcase the impact of women-led innovation and discuss ways to break barriers in tech. The day-long event featured a panel discussion titled “Breaking Barriers in Tech: Stories of Resilience and Innovation.” It highlighted how women are challenging traditional norms and reshaping the technology landscape. Notable speakers included Latha Chemrakalam from Continental, Ashwini Siddhi from GoDaddy, and Sumedha Limaye from Quest Global. The event also included inspiring stories from Vandana Suri, the founder of India’s women-only taxi service, and Nisha Millet, a former Olympic swimmer. They shared their journeys of perseverance to motivate the attendees. Anita Vijaykrishnan, VP at Honeywell Technology Solutions, emphasized that women in tech are not just solving problems but also shaping the future. She expressed Honeywell’s commitment to recognizing and supporting women’s leadership. Anant Maheshwari, Honeywell's President & CEO of Global Regions, spoke about the need for diverse voices in tech. He called for empowering women to lead and highlighted Honeywell’s initiative ‘LeadHERS in Tech’ for supporting women in innovation. A discussion between Ashish Modi and Niranjan Kalyandurg focused on the importance of male allyship for creating inclusive workplaces. They addressed gender biases and stressed the need for training to overcome unconscious biases in the industry.
