The judges visited each area, assessing schools, transport, broadband, and cultural amenities. Other towns recognized in the North West include The Heatons in Greater Manchester, Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria, and Knutsford in Cheshire. Woolton is not the only Merseyside area to be featured on this list. In 2024, Sefton Park was recognized among the best places to live, known for its great parks and vibrant surroundings. Toxteth was highlighted in 2023 for its diverse community and green spaces while areas like Waterloo and West Kirby have also received past accolades. The Sunday Times has been showcasing top living areas since 2017, with towns like Heswall and the Baltic Triangle making previous lists.
