WPIAL alumni compete at women's wrestling championships in Iowa

For the first time, former WPIAL girls wrestlers competed at the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships in Iowa. This event marked the last time they participated before women's wrestling became an NCAA sanctioned championship. Ana Malovich, Leyna Rumpler, Abbie Miles, and Grace O’Korn represented their schools. Malovich won her opening match but was eliminated in the second round. Miles, after redshirting last year, won her first match but lost the next two. Rumpler and O’Korn both lost their two matches. The NCAA recently approved women's wrestling as its 91st championship, inspiring future generations. Malovich expressed excitement about the opportunity to compete for an NCAA title in the future.
