WPIAL teams join District 12 in PIAA finals

District 12 boys basketball teams have had significant success in the PIAA state playoffs over the years. Four of the six District 12 champions have made it to the finals in Hershey this season. Notably, two of these teams will compete against each other in the Class 6A final. The Class 6A Championship will feature Roman Catholic and Father Judge on Saturday evening. Both teams have shown strong performances throughout the tournament. Roman Catholic has a 25-5 record, while Father Judge is at 23-7. Three teams from District 3 and three from the WPIAL will also participate in the state finals. The PIAA championships will take place at the GIANT Center in Hershey from Thursday to Saturday. In Class 5A, Hershey will face Neumann-Goretti, while Berks Catholic meets Devon Prep in Class 4A. South Allegheny and West Catholic will compete in Class 3A. Additionally, Sewickley Academy will play Linville Hill Christian Academy in Class 2A, and Neighborhood Academy takes on Sankofa Freedom Academy in Class A. Excitement is building as the finals draw near, with teams eager to claim their state titles.
