Wrangler National Finals Rodeo celebrates 40 years in Las Vegas with contract extension through 2035

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Las Vegas, where it has been held since 1985. Las Vegas Events has secured a contract extension, ensuring the rodeo will remain in the city through at least 2035. Originally held in Dallas and later in Oklahoma City, the NFR moved to Las Vegas after local businessmen offered financial incentives. The first event at the Thomas & Mack Center took place in 1985, and it has since become a major attraction, selling out every year. The rodeo was temporarily relocated to Texas in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions but returned to Las Vegas after a one-year hiatus. The recent contract extension includes increased funding for prize money, reinforcing Las Vegas's commitment to hosting the event.
