Writers Theatre announces 2025-26 season lineup in Glencoe
Writers Theatre in Glencoe is set to present its 2025-26 season, featuring several exciting productions. The highlight is the Chicago premiere of Tom Stoppard’s acclaimed play "Leopoldstadt," which explores the impact of the Holocaust on Stoppard's family. This play will be directed by Carey Perloff and is expected to showcase an all-local cast. The season begins this summer with Hershey Felder’s show "Rachmaninoff and the Tsar," which runs from August 13 to September 21. Following that, a new musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s "As You Like It" will debut from October 30 to December 14. Next winter, audience members can enjoy Nilo Cruz’s "Two Sisters and a Piano" from February 26 to March 29, 2026. Additionally, the contemporary thriller "Job" will premiere in Chicago from April 9 to June 14, 2026. The season will end with "Leopoldstadt" from June 4 to July 19, 2026. Writers Theatre will also offer a special holiday performance called "The Unfair Advantage" by magician Harry Milas from December 3 to 28. In other theater news, a new musical based on James Taylor's music, titled "Fire & Rain," is currently in development, with Tracy Letts writing the book and David Cromer directing.
