Xander Schauffele makes 60 consecutive cuts in golf
Xander Schauffele has made golf history by being the sixth player to make 60 consecutive cuts. This achievement places him alongside golf legends like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. The 31-year-old has not missed a cut since the 2022 Masters Tournament. Schauffele's current streak is the longest since Woods' famous run of 142 straight cuts from 1998 to 2005. Throughout his streak, Schauffele has won two major titles, including the 2024 PGA Championship and The Open. In the recent Valspar Championship, Schauffele started strong with a 1-under 70 in his first round and followed with a 3-under 68 in the second round. He finished the day tied for fifth place at 4-under par, just two strokes behind the leader, Jacob Bridgeman. Reflecting on his cut streak, Schauffele acknowledged its significance but emphasized that his main focus is on winning. He expressed satisfaction with his progress as he competes at Innisbrook. After a rib injury, Schauffele's return to form has been impressive. Despite facing challenges in previous tournaments this year, he remains a strong contender as he aims to continue his success.
