Xenoblade Chronicles X shows potential for Switch 2 upgrades
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition has been released for the Nintendo Switch, improving on the original game from 2015. However, a recently discovered hidden feature may suggest it could get even better in the future. A modder named MasaGratoR found that the game has a hidden 60 frames per second (fps) mode. Currently, the game runs at 30fps, but the hidden mode could potentially double that performance. Unfortunately, this mode is not fully functional and can cause issues during gameplay. MasaGratoR explained that when enabling the 60fps mode, the game outputs 60 frames but only 30 are actually usable. Some cutscenes appear to work fine, but many objects display glitches. This raises questions about whether Nintendo will improve the game's performance with the upcoming Switch 2. Nintendo has stated that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will be compatible with the Switch 2, along with many other games. Many fans are curious if Nintendo will enhance existing titles' performance and graphics for the new console. More information from Nintendo is expected during a Switch 2 Direct event on April 2, 2025. Fans hope to learn more about the console's features, price, and game lineup.
