The Animal Husbandry Department in Yadgir district has ensured sufficient fodder stock for livestock ahead of summer. Currently, there are 8.29 lakh tonnes of fodder available, enough to support 2.90 lakh cattle and 6.93 lakh sheep and goats until the monsoon. The department has also distributed fodder seeds to farmers under the National Livestock Mission. A total of 1,057 packets of Sorghum seeds have been given out, with the majority going to general category farmers, followed by Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Officials state that the existing fodder will last until the arrival of green grass with the upcoming rainfall. The distribution of ATM fodder seed packets has also reached 356 farmers, supporting various categories.
