Yazidi leader avoids sexual assault charge via peace bond

cbc.ca

Hadji Hesso, executive director of the Yazidi Association of Manitoba, is no longer facing a sexual assault charge. He agreed to an 18-month peace bond that requires him to stay 100 meters away from the woman who accused him. The peace bond prohibits Hesso from contacting the woman directly or indirectly. He must also avoid her home, school, and place of worship. Hesso stated he would comply with these conditions. The Crown has stayed the sexual assault charge and related charges against Hesso in exchange for the peace bond. Hesso maintains the allegations are false and remains in his position with the Yazidi Association.
