YISU partners with colleges for skill-integrated education
Young India Skills University (YISU) held a workshop on Saturday with Government Degree Colleges (Autonomous) to discuss integrating skills training into education. The goal is to help students gain employable skills and be ready for the job market. Vice Chancellor V.L.V.S.S. Subba Rao shared ideas about how to implement this program. Suggestions included setting up a dedicated classroom in each college and providing full support for training and internships through YISU. About 40 principals and 33 vice-principals from various autonomous colleges participated in the workshop. They highlighted the need for the State Education Department to address issues like course affiliation and creating more apprenticeship-based degree programs. They emphasized the importance of a decentralized system for skill education. This would better serve students in their local areas and enhance their outcomes. Key officials, including OSD Chaman Mehta and academic guidance officer Bala Bhaskar, joined the discussions.
